There’s A Way out of Your Past!

I was 61 years old and stuck in my past; still wishing things had been different, still hoping for an outcome that could never be, and still allowing what had happened years ago to affect my current thoughts, actions and reactions.

For decades I focused on past hurts, looking in the rearview mirror, so to speak.  Tired of reliving my past and tired of how it made me feel about myself, I was searching for a way to let go of all my yesterdays and enjoy the good that was in my life today.

It was time to move on.  But, I didn’t know how. And there was no instructional manual on how to live “today.”

Looking for a solution I asked myself, “How can I stop thinking about what happened?  How do I work through and let go of the past?  What do I need to do?  What am I waiting for?  What will it take for me to finally live “today?”

It was in asking and answering these same questions, and many more, that I discovered four useful tools for working through, letting go of, and moving beyond the past.

Everyone has experienced some disappointment, hurt, or trauma in his or her life.  No one is immune.  Not me, not you.  Just as I was, you may be stuck in your past, reliving what has happened, not knowing how to let it go, how to come into your “today.”

In upcoming posts I will be sharing the tools and tips I discovered for letting go. It’s my hope that you will find your way out of your past and into your “today.”

You are worth it!
