Baby
Baby was a sweet, sensitive dog with soft brown eyes who loved to cuddle and sleep on her favorite green pillow. A “pure blend” of beagle, terrier, and dachshund, Baby had characteristics of all three; she dug holes, jumped, and hid behind pillows and under blankets.
To author Jeannine Fox, Baby was more than just a dog. She was Jeannine’s teacher, confidant, and faithful healer, having all the pet therapy certification, pedigrees, and credentials Jeannine needed to heal.
“The day I adopted Baby and carried her to my car I felt like a mother leaving the hospital with her newborn,” Jeannine says. “She lay curled in a tight little ball on my lap as I stroked her velvety coat. This was the beginning of our love for one another and my emotional healing.”
Baby loved to be carried from one place to another. She didn’t fetch or retrieve anything, shake hands, sit on command, or complete service dogs training. She was a healer, not a heeler.”
Baby and Jeannine shared a spiritual and emotional bond that spanned 14 years and took the human-animal connection to new heights. Jeannine says, “As my healer, and a tangible sign of God’s unconditional love for me, in my mind Baby earned a pet therapy certification.”
Cradled in Jeannine’s arms, Baby left this earth on Valentine’s Day 2008. She was 16.
Baby’s spirit live on; she continues to heal the lives of all who read or hear the story of Holy Paws.
