About the Book

Holy Paws, the inspiring story of how a little dog helped its owner let go of her past, takes the healing power of a pet to a new level.
At the heart of this personal story is the universal message; regardless of our age or experiences, within each of us is the wisdom and power we need to heal. It’s never too late! In her fifties, and still living with her childhood memories, author Jeannine Fox believed that overcoming emotional abuse was impossible. That is until she adopted a dog named Baby. Without disclosing the specifics of her childhood trauma, Fox shares the emotional healing and spiritual awakening she experienced when she began to see Baby as her confidant, teacher, and faithful healer.
Fox says, “Baby had the habit of sitting behind me as I ate. One day I got up from my chair and my slacks were covered with her hair. Suddenly I knew that like Baby, I needed to shed the old.” Unlike Baby’s process of letting go, healing emotional abuse did not come naturally for Fox. She decided to finally let go.
As we accompany Fox on her inward journey to listen and reconnect with God, we are drawn in to our own hearts, where we reawaken and renew our own resilience. Holy Paws reminds us that nothing can separate us from God’s love; a love that has been inside us all along, but we may have long forgotten.
Proving that overcoming emotional abuse is possible, Holy Paws empowers us to rediscover our goodness, reclaim our own inner power, and learn to love ourselves as we are.
